ONE Health System
One Health aims to sustainably balance and optimise the health of people, animals and ecosystems. It recognises that the health of people, animals (both domestic and wild), plants, and the wider environment (including ecosystems) are closely linked and interdependent.
ONE Health System
By linking humans, animals and the environment, the One Health approach can help to address the full spectrum of disease control – from prevention to detection, preparedness, response and management – and contribute to global health security. The approach relies on shared and effective governance, communication, collaboration and coordination.
Health threats at the human-animal-environment interface can be avoided or minimised if countries are adequately prepared to predict, prevent, identify and detect them. Governments must implement a multidisciplinary cross-sectoral One Health approach where all human, animal, and environmental health authorities work harmoniously, using resources best and aligning their strategies.
Enhancing the capacity of countries at the animal health and human health interface is critical in support of the One Health initiative across countries. This needs to be improved by strong coordination and collaboration among the relevant sectors and a need for joint harmonised plans.
In consultation with our clients and One Health sector players, we develop harmonised strategic plans, policies and procedures to aid the implementation of coordinated-seamless One Health management systems and infrastructure. This approach brings together professionals drawn from Humans, Animals and the environment and an ecosystem to assist in one health system development exercise.
